The Big Day...

This is an entry, a very special entry, describing the beginning of a wonderful journey with a certain someone i consider to be very important to me. It all started by Brian's dad driving, Brian, Liv, and I up to the Congress Theatre in Chicago. The drive was long, and tiring, very tiring. It seemed to be taking forever to get to the destination, seeing nothing but train tracks, old factories and buildings a like. Although the sights were bleak, my thoughts and gameplan for the night kept my enthusiam at its peak. This was the night i was going to ask out Jenna, during her favorite song. Time passed, and we had arrived at the theatre. Tons of kids lined the sides, excitement from the show was evident, because it dripped off of the words that took part in their rapid, energy filled conversations. After walking down the already semi-lengthy line of anxiouskids, we took our spots in line, it was time to wait. Three and a half hours had passed, standing in the cold, just waiting. The hairs on the back of my neck, standing up, more prickly then pine needles, and my toes became so numb, I would not doubt they were and colder than small ice cubes. After this extensive wait, we were finally in. The atmosphere was defeaning, everyones voices, echoing throughout the large theatre, it was hard to hear anything. After getting in the theatre, it was time to find a spot. Finding a spot was tough, considering wherever you stood, would get pushed way back as soon as the concert started. We watched, and listened to all of the main acts. Loud, pounding drum beats, fast guitar riffs and powerful vocals emulated out of all of the speakers. It was a great time, but it was about to get better, I had finally found Jenna, the girl I was going to ask out that night, RIGHT before her favorite bands set. She stood with me before they went on, happiness radiating from her smile and the look on her face. As soon as the first song came on, her favorite, i let the pounding insanity reverberating in my eardrums play out before i asked. A little more into the song and i bent down, ear level with her and shouted, "HEY!", she responded,"yeah?!". After that the feeling in my stomach was intense, like someone had literally removed my stomach, and tied it in a knot, i tohought of backing down, but that wasnt an option, i broke the chains of fear and exclaimed; "Would you be my girlfriend!?". She replied, happily, "Yes, i would love too!". I couldnt have been more ecstatic to hear those words from her, that completely tied to entire conert experience together, and really made it an awesome day. From that day, 7 months ago, we are still dating, and still happier than ever, all thanks to a little leap of faith, and taking a step out of my comfort zone.

Harms Way, Terror and Have Heart,

are my three favorite hardcore bands. These bands never fail to dissapoint me, so I hav a feeling you would enjoy them too! Even though have heart had broke up long ago, their music still keeps me listening just because of the pure meaning behind it all. Harms Way's serious take on world views and situations, heavy riffs and general heavy atmosphere the bring has always had my attention in their musical threshold. Last but not least is Terror, a long-running, heavily meaningful Hardcore band that is constanly progressing, spreading their word all over the world. Please check these bands out especially, hope you enjoy!

Trapped Under Ice's new album "Big Kiss Goodnight" Review.

What can i say? TUI has done it again, this album is as and almost more hard hitting and creative then previous release "Secrets of the World". The originality of the album is just outstanding, each song has its own unique sound and composition, with pounding fast drum beats and intense riffs to get you more than stoked. they have progressed greatly as a band, and lets sum this up right now; This new album was so impressive, i still havent picked my jaw back up off the computer desk. Jaw-dropping jams, good dudes, overrall this album gets a definite 5 out of 5. TUI has not melted at all, they are still reiginging true to the fact that they are for certain, "Still Cold".

Dead End Path, Agitator, Bitter End and Naysayer.

These four bands all bring their own unique style to the hardcore dinner table. Dead End Path brings a heavy hitting eerie sound to the seen, that does not dissapoint. Agitator is yet another straightedge band, giving insightful words on life choices, while Bitter End just keeps the energy and action of hardcore alive, and last but not least, Naysayer's recent release "Laid to Rest" really put them high on the charts in my listening agenda, so give them a listen!

Go ahead and try to stop this straight edge youth,

BOOM! FocusedxMinds is a Straight Edge Hardcore band from Milwaukee, never dissapointing, always producing great tunes to get down to or just jam. Great dudes with a positive message.
Pictured: FocusedxMinds

Pictured: FocusedxMinds, they rule, check em!

It is definately a Ceremony kind of day,

Ceremony is jsut an all out, crazy, energetic, fast-paced, angry hardcore band. Their music is literally NUTS, and its not for the faint of heart, due to the minimal "choice" language and just genrally angry lyrics, but if youre down for some REALLY good fast paced music, please feel free to check them out.
Pictured: Ceremony, Ross Farrar(pictured) has just an overall crazy stage presence, as you can tell. Dude rules!

Backtrack, Trapped Under Ice, War Hound and Turnstile, Hard jams!

I have nothing but good things to say about these bands, all of them rule, so feel free to give each a listen!
I reccomend "Deal With the Devil" by Backtrack, "Stay Cold EP", "Secrets of the World", and "Big Kiss Goodnight" by Trapped Under Ice, "Colder Than Ever Demo", "Return of the Hardstyle", and "Call of the Hounds" by War Hound, and "Turnstile EP", for obviously, Turnstile, check em out, and give some feed back!

A few friends of mine started a side project band called RustMouth, an awesome fusion of Thrash Metal and Hardcore, check them out on facebook or even come out ot to one of their shows, you wont be dissapointed!

Edge Day.

Project X's "Straight Edge Revenge".

Today is Edge Day. It's a day to really reflect on your beliefs, and just a day to keep your chin up, and not to let anyone bring you down. Typically on this day, many kids attend shows, and or just reflect, like i have stated before. There is a show tonight, for a band by the name of "Bane". Bane is a very influential Straight Edge band to me and many others, although i will not have the privelage to attend the event. Even though i will not be there tonight, I am still going to keep my chin up, and make the absolute best out of the rest of this day.

Show flyer for Bane's show tonight. (dates are different).

Happy Edge day.
